Goddards – Greenwich

Last Sunday we had the perfect weather for a cold winter stroll to Greenwich. Upon arrival we decided to pop to Goddards. A family run business that serve London’s most traditional meal of pie mash and liquor. This meal can be traced back through the 1800’s and is an important part of London’s food history. They are open everyday serving handmade pies which are baked throughout the day.

Goddard’s have been serving pie and mash in London for over 125 years

I went for the traditional chicken pie, mash and liquor. You cannot fault the pies at Goddards. They taste fresh, are perfectly seasoned and packed full of flavour. The chunks of chicken were generous and juicy and their pastry was buttery, flaky and very more-ish.

I am a huge fan of their chilli vinegar, so much so I purchased a bottle for myself!

If you find yourself in Greenwich with a sudden craving for pies, make sure you head over to Goddards!

Until then, happy eating.
